Grand Royal Group International Donates Essential Items and Appliances as Rehabilitation Efforts to Aid Flood-Affected Families

In a gesture of solidarity and compassion, Grand Royal Group International has joined hands with local charity organizations to donate essential items and household appliances upon several flood-stricken families in regions such as Tharwuthti, Tatkon, Lewe, Yamethin, Pyawbwe, Kalaw and Inle. This humble contribution is a testament to our unwavering commitment to aiding those in need.

Moreover, the Grand Royal Group International family extends its heartfelt wishes for the affected communities to receive the vital support necessary for their restoration endeavors. May their path to recovery be swift and filled with hope.

Grand Royal Group Fire incident in Yangon

Grand Royal Group International Co. Ltd (GRG), which is a 75% majority owned subsidiary of Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, suffered fire outbreak at its main Hmawbi factory premises in Yangon, Myanmar on Friday 13th January. The fire was successfully put out in the early hours of Saturday 14th January, with the courageous effort of firefighters, volunteers, and company staff. 19 firefighters and volunteers were injured in the process and subsequently treated in hospital. 17 have since been discharged and the remaining 2 are out of danger.”

Fire outbreak started at the alcohol storage area and the inventory of rectified spirit (96% alcohol) and the tanks which are used to blend the alcohol were damaged without spreading to the main distillery, bottling plant and aged whisky cask storage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and assessment, and based on evidence so far, is believed to be an accident. The company is fully cooperating with local authorities following the incident and is in discussion with its insurance agents for suitable coverage of the losses.
“We are grateful to all those who provided assistance and support while fighting the fire. The management of GRG is already taking immediate steps to resume its blending and bottling operations in Hmawbi by February 2023. Our operations in the Mandalay facility remain unaffected. We do not anticipate any shortage of Grand Royal products in Myanmar, as the company and its distributors and trade partners hold sufficient inventory” said Rahul Colaco, CEO of GRG.

The 26th Anniversary Donations of Grand Royal Group International on 1st April 2022

As part of our continuous community engagement programme, Grand Royal Group International (GRGI) has made donations on basic food stuff to the residents and villagers around our factories in Yangon and Mandalay in Myanmar.

The COVID-19 situation and the current world economic crisis has affected millions of our countrymen and their livelihoods. GRGI is fully aware of this social impact on the lives of people, and we are making efforts to try to help as many people as possible. We believe that charity begins at home and with that, we want to help our closest communities first.

We donated food boxes consisting of 13 items of basic food stuff and 2 packs of 25 kg rice which altogether is worth in total of 100,000 MMK per household with 932 for Yangon and 126 for the Mandalay areas. These donations come from over 380 million Kyats raised by employees, which is toped up with company’s budget. In addition, we have donated over 1 million kyats each to monasteries, nunnery, and church in our immediate vicinity. (Yangon- 1 monastery, 1 church, Madalay-6 monasteries and 1 nunnery).

On April 1st, 2022, GRGI staff delivered the donations to the residents and villagers. We hope that our efforts will help some people to tide over these trying times.

Moreover, the company donated 600 COVIFOR Remdesivir injections manufactured in India to treat 100 critically infected patients to the Department of Medical Research. Recently to commemorate its 25th anniversary ,the company donated  200 Million MMK to the  National Level Central Committee for Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19 for the purchase of vaccines via UMFCCI and in order to continue the business operations with New Normal, the company participated in “STOP COVID-19 Yellow Campaign” initiative led by the Ministry of Health and Sport and Yangon Regional Government.

Not only did the company focus in the  community efforts here in Myanmar but its majority shareholder, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, donated over 20,000 pieces of surgical masks , 100 litres of 72% alcohol and 20 bottles of alcohol gel to His Excellency U Myo Myint Than, the Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand at the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Bangkok. According to the record by the end of 2020, the long running campaign on providing free eye treatment helped over 74,000 patients who could not afford sight-saving treatment. And we continue working hard to bring clean water to villages and poor districts through the provision of wells, supporting facilities and education and have brought accessing drinking water for over 12,379 Household and over 73,334 residents in 131 villages across Mon state, Yangon, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Bago and Magway regions.

GRGI has donated (550,000) units of surgical masks against Covid 19 in Myanmar

In order to support the efforts of  COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment in the current outbreak situation, reflecting our Corporate motto “Being A Good Corporate Citizen”, Grand Royal Group International Co.,Ltd has donated (550,000) units of surgical masks to the Yangon Region Health Department, Yangon General Hospital, (9) townships under the care of Yangon Northern District, the venerable monks  receiving treatment  at Kyauktawgyi Monastery in Hmawbi Township and Rakhine State Health Department . Moreover, the company has donated the masks to ”the venerable monks under quarantine in Insein Township, Quarantine Centers in Alone Township, Thingyankyun Township,Thanlyin Township and other places in need urgently through “We Love Yangon”,”We Love Thanlyin”, local NGO.

Grand Royal Group International Co.,ltd has donated 200,000 bottles of “Good Corporate Citizen” Hand Sanitizer units (500 ml) to the state and regional health departments, Public Hospitals, Government offices serving public sectors, Covid-19 Committees, Quarantine Centers and other various organizations under the guidance of Ministry of Health and Sport quickly and efficiently for the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment since March 2020.
