Reflecting on Our Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility

As I step into the role of CEO, I want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the remarkable impact we’ve made together through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives over the past few years. CSR is not simply a corporate commitment; it’s an expression of our purpose—to create and celebrate happiness together—and a reflection of one of our core values, caring for stakeholders.

Each year, we continue to deepen our commitment to the wellbeing of those around us, from our employees and their families to the communities we operate within and the wider nation we are part of. Our CSR efforts aren’t just acts of giving back; they’re integral to who we are as a company.

In 2024, we have advanced our community support with initiatives like the Shwedagon Pagoda Clean Water Project, enhancing access to safe water for visitors at the North and West gates. Additionally, we launched the Young CEO Program, endorsed by ABE UK, which is designed to empower the teenage children of our employees. This program is more than a learning opportunity—it’s a commitment to nurturing the next generation and inspiring them with leadership skills and future-focused knowledge. We’re also looking forward to extending this initiative to the children of our distributors and suppliers.

Reflecting on 2023, our CSR projects ranged from youth education to community support. We expanded our Life Skills for Youth Program to help young people develop practical skills for a bright future. Our internship programs opened doors for students across ASEAN, exposing them to invaluable work experience. Moreover, we made a significant investment in sustainability with one of the largest solar photovoltaic systems at our Hmawbi Township distillery, supporting our aim for sustainable production. We also installed solar-powered irrigation and water treatment systems for local farmers in Nyaunglebin Township, enabling them to thrive in a sustainable way.

We stood alongside our employees and communities through the challenges of 2023, providing seasonal flu vaccinations, relief support, and humanitarian aid to those affected by Cyclone Mocha. The cyclone relief initiatives reminded us of the strength of our collective compassion and commitment to resilience.

In the years prior, we worked to address critical needs. During the pandemic, we launched the STOP COVID-19 Yellow Campaign and joined the Oxygen for Myanmar Emergency Campaign. For our own people, we provided vaccinations, COVID-19 boosters, and influenza shots, showing our unwavering commitment to their health and safety.

As we reflect on these milestones, I want each of us to feel proud. CSR is not about ticking boxes; it’s about living our values and making a real difference. Every initiative reflects our ongoing dedication to creating and celebrating happiness for all our stakeholders. We’re in this together, building a legacy of positive impact.
